Caring for elastic cord.
Dry, off at night, and how to tell when it is tired. The stone lasts. The cord is the part you look after.
Water, scent, and sleep.
The cord is elastic, knotted by hand. Water, perfume and a night on the wrist are what age it. Take the bracelet off for showers, swimming and sleep if you can. Wipe the beads with a soft cloth after a long day.
One bracelet is enough for every day. Two is a stack. Three is the limit. More than that pulls on the knots.
Dry. Off at night. Look once a month.
Keep it dry
Showers and swimming soften the cord and can dull some stones. The bedside, or a pocket, is enough for an hour.
Off the wrist
Sleep is when most cords stretch. Take it off with the watch, if you wear one.
When it is tired
Daily wear lasts about a year or two. If it feels slack, or a knot looks thin, it is ready to be restrung.
Postage, not a new bracelet.
We restring a tired cord for the cost of postage. Write with the order number, or just the name of the stone, and we will tell you where to send it. A cord that arrived already damaged is not this. That belongs on the returns page.
